A breathing air bottle is the air reservoir of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and diving cylinders. Its filling quality directly affects user safety. Breathing air charging must meet strict air-quality and filling-pressure requirements, and air booster pumps are commonly used for on-site filling.
1. Filling pressure: firefighting SCBA cylinders are typically 30 MPa (some 20 MPa); diving cylinders usually 20 MPa;
2. Air quality: per EN 12021 (breathing air standard), oxygen 20%-22%, CO no more than 5 ppm, CO2 no more than 500 ppm, with oil mist, moisture and odor limits;
3. Cylinder management: check hydro-test date, condition and valve before filling; hydro-test cylinders periodically.
A typical system: low-pressure air source (compressor or bank) → purification (water/oil separator, activated carbon, CO converter) → air booster pump → filling valve → breathing air cylinder. The booster raises 0.5-3 MPa low-pressure air to 20/30 MPa, with purification to keep output air within breathing-quality limits.
1. Control filling temperature to avoid overheating the cylinder;
2. Never exceed the rated cylinder pressure;
3. Keep the filling room ventilated; maintain the compressor and booster regularly;
4. Send output air for periodic lab testing to confirm breathing quality.
Jinan Shangling Technology supplies air booster pumps and complete breathing air filling systems at 20/30 MPa, with optional purification, auto stop and auto shut-off when full, custom-configured for fire stations and rescue teams. For more details, please call 18668913679 or email ljys@163.com.
